Red Onions, with their vibrant purple outer skin and neatly concentric white and red fleshy rings, offer a crisp texture and a pungent, slightly sweet flavor that becomes milder upon cooking. Their striking appearance and burst of color make them a favorite in fresh dishes like salads, salsas, and pickles, and when roasted, they take on a deep sweetness, adding complexity to any recipe. Red Onions can also be grilled or caramelized, releasing their natural sugars and resulting in a delightful addition to sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas. In terms of nutrition, Red Onions are known to be a good source of vitamin C and flavonoids, compounds that contribute to overall health.
